Louis van Gaal hands out gifts to fans before Man United’s Boxing Day win

Man United extended their unbeaten streak to eight matches with a Boxing Day win over Newcastle even though Louis van Gaal showed his Christmas spirit by giving his team Christmas Day off — an unusual move for a Premier League manager. And he extended that giving mood before the match by handing out gifts to fans in the stands at Old Trafford.

Following the 3-1 win, Van Gaal told the BBC: “It was a fantastic Chrishmash for us. We were dominating 90 minutes and I like that, as you know.”

But it wasn’t all candy canes and mistletoe for the Dutch gaffer.

“We did also a lot of bad things” he added. “I have to say that. But we are improving with every match.”

Meanwhile, when David Moyes was manager of Man United, all he gave the club’s supporters for Christmas was a taste of being as miserable as every other club’s fans.

Did somebody have a little too much eggnog??

That sentence doesn’t make any sense. You didn’t finish the “and before the match” thought.

Hate ManU but have to give Louis his due. If this guy can win and still have Ashley Young in the squad, he’s nothing short of a miracle worker. The team is still light years behind City and Chelsea( how are those sanctions against Russia coming along Great Britain)
