Tim Sherwood is throwing his outerwear again

Everyone’s favorite win percentage obsessive, Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood, played an updated version of one of his original hits during his side’s match against QPR when he threw his jacket in celebration of Christian Benteke’s first goal.

The visitors opened the scoring in just the seventh minute, but Benteke equalized in the 10th, prompting Sherwood to express his joy by being unable to wear his jacket for a second longer.

Sherwood famously threw off his iconic gilet in anger during his brief spell as Spurs interim manager, so it’s interesting to see that outerwear throwing can be used to express both happiness and rage in his mind.

Benteke went on to score again in the 33rd minute, prompting Sherwood to jump around and pump his fists in enjoyment of his own genius.

But QPR’s Clint Hill scored his first Premier League goal to equalize at 2-2 after the break. Charlie Austin then put QPR up 3-2 in the 77th minute and Sherwood probably felt more like cover his face with his coat than throwing it off.

Sherwood’s prayers were answered when Benteke completed his hat trick with a free kick off the post in the 82nd minute, though. The match ended 3-3 and Tim Sherwood’s inspirational jacket throw was almost certainly the reason why.
