DTotD: Flamengo player only shown a yellow for kicking opponent in the shoulder

Vasco da Gama and Flamengo played to a scoreless draw on Sunday, but just because there were no goals does not mean there were no near decapitations. Flamengo’s Jonas demonstrated his violent flexibility in the 11th minute, planting his studs into an opponent’s shoulder.

Even more incredibly though, was the fact that he was only shown a yellow card for his very dangerous high boot.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.

It’s only a fleshwould, a small tut tuting is all that’s need from the referee.

Oh and the players surrounding him and screaming at him with their hands behind their backs are hilarious. I know the referee screwed up terribly here but there’s no way they’re ever going to get to the right conclusions if they don’t get backed up by the league. You’re not breeding referees that are good decision makers, you’re breeding only the ones that can take being screamed at. Fine the players, pay referees better, give them instant replay.
