Xavi in tears after playing his final game at the Camp Nou

Having played more games and winning more trophies than any other player in Barcelona history, Xavi made his final appearance at the Camp Nou in Barca’s La Liga finale against Deportivo La Coruna.

Xavi was honored with a giant banner and Barca were given a guard of honor by Depor for having already clinched the league title.

Once the match began, Xavi demonstrated his undimmed brilliance by completing 112 passes (according to Opta) — more than any other player in a La Liga match this season.

In the 86th minute, with the match even at 2-2, Xavi was replaced by Andres Iniesta, allowing the crowd to cheer their captain off one last time and moving him to tears in the process.

After the final whistle, Xavi lifted the trophy for the eighth time before a tribute video was shown on the big screen. Xavi then said a few words to the crowd through even more tears.

Finally, his teammates tossed him in the air while wearing shirts emblazoned with his number 6.
