Gareth Bale can forget about getting an invite to Cristiano Ronaldo’s house

Cristiano Ronaldo was less than pleased with the questions at his press conference on Tuesday ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Roma. First, he was asked if the loved-up relationship between Leo Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez is the reason they’ve combined for more goals than him, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema. This is just expert level trolling.

From Sky Sports:

“That’s what you say,” Ronaldo said. “When I was at Manchester United with Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand, we only said ‘good morning’ and ‘good night’ and we were formidable on the pitch.

“We don’t give each other kisses and hugs. I don’t have to go to dinner with Bale or Benzema or invite them to my house. What’s important is our understanding on the pitch. Little meals or kisses and hugs don’t mean anything.”

I guess that means Ronaldo won’t be buying any Disney character pajamas for Benzema like Suarez did for Messi.

The mission to piss Ronaldo right off the stage didn’t end there, though. He was then asked about going four away matches without a goal, which, again, is pure trolling.

Ronaldo replied:

“Can you name one player who has scored more away from home than me since I’ve been in Spain? No, you can’t, there aren’t any. Bye everyone.”

And then he walked out of the room. But the text doesn’t do this moment justice at all. Watch the video below. It’s all about the shrugs and then Zidane’s chuckle after he walks out.

This is the precursor to a goal celebration for the ages.

I’m so glad I watched that. I didn’t even need the sound. Between that, and the Scouse to German translation guide from Augsburg, my morning has been made.
