Saturday was a great day for every member of Leicester City, but for defender Ritchie De Laet, it was doubly great.
In February, De Laet joined Middlesbrough on loan and on Saturday he was on the bench as the club drew Brighton 1-1 to ensure automatic promotion to the Premier League by finishing second in the Championship. After celebrating that fine accomplishment and getting his runners-up medal, De Laet made the two and a half hour trip from Middlesbrough to Leicester to watch his parent club beat Everton 3-1. He then helped them lift the Premier League trophy after changing into his second kit of the day.

Since he made 12 appearances for Leicester this season, De Laet got a Premier League medal to join his Championship runners-up medal around his neck.
This was certainly a much better day than the one Lewis Kinsella had back in April, when he was relegated from the fifth tier of English football while on a one-month loan with Kidderminster Harriers the same day his parent club, Aston Villa, were relegated from the Premier League.
