After a year away from the game (making cameos in Star Trek films), Carlo Ancelotti was officially unveiled as Bayern Munich’s new manager on Monday. And he was promptly presented with a pair of lederhosen. As a result, I am now counting down the days until Oktoberfest. The thought of him wearing the traditional Bavarian garb is just too much to bear.

Ancelotti’s magical eyebrow was in fine form at his first Bayern press conference, establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with in front of the German press.

Former Bayern boss Pep Guardiola left Ancelotti a message (in Italian) on the white board in the manager’s office. There was no advice to pace himself at Oktoberfest, though.
