Man City-Gladbach got washed out, but Gladbach fans didn’t mind

Man City’s Champions League curtain raiser against Borussia Monchengladbach was flooded/lightning’d into postponement (until Wednesday). This time-lapse video shows the impact the weather had on the pitch and why this decision had to be made:

The storm didn’t deter Gladbach supporters who traveled from Germany, however. They filled the away end of an otherwise empty Etihad Stadium and sang their hearts out anyway.

This prompted their team to come out and show their appreciation, even though there was no match to be played.

Match or no match, passion for the game can’t be drowned out.
