The creepiest “new signing undergoing a medical” photo you’ll ever see

This is 21-year-old Mitchell Weiser undergoing his medical as he moves from Bayern Munich to Hertha Berlin. Photographs of players in the middle of medical exams before joining a new club are always weird, but this is a whole new level.

The doctor looks like he’s sizing Weiser up for some kind of experimental surgery where he replaces his extremities with live eels and Weiser looks like he has resigned himself to this fate and mentally dissociated from his soon to be dissected body.

Nothing about this is good. Official medical exam pictures need to stop.

Jurgen Klopp credits Dortmund’s improved form to his resignation

Borussia Dortmund beat Hertha Berlin 2-0 on Saturday to extend their unbeaten streak to four matches since manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he will leave at the end of the season. This continued Dortmund’s rebound from being bottom of the league up to 10th in the table, and now to seventh place and a chance at qualifying for the Europa League.

After the match, Klopp demonstrated his always wonderful sense of humor. From the BBC:

“If I’d known before the start of the season that we’d put such a winning run together, I’d have announced my departure back then,” Klopp said.

“Seventh place feels brilliant.”

The world would be a better place if we were all a little bit like Jurgen Klopp.

Hertha Berlin’s Thomas Kraft makes a save with his face

I love a good face save and this is a good face save. Hertha Berlin’s Thomas Kraft preserved his clean sheet in his side’s 2-0 win against Paderborn by saving a shot from close range with his nose. He even added in some jazz hands for added flair.

Kraft was able to laugh about the incident as he rubbed his stinging kisser. He was probably just thankful that he didn’t concede a 65-yard goal to Charlie Adam.

Borussia Dortmund halt play until opponent gets his shoe back on

Borussia Dortmund’s nightmare season continued with a 1-0 loss to Hertha Berlin on Saturday, but that didn’t stop them from displaying an admirable bit of sportsmanship during the match.

With the score still 0-0 in the 27th minute, Hertha midfielder Per Ciljan Skjelbred went down with his boot partially off his foot. Seeing this, the Dortmund players slowed things down and passed the ball around, even just standing on it at one point as Skjelbred adjusted his footwear.

Once the Norwegian international was ready to continue, he gave his opponents a thumbs up and play resumed at full speed. Just 13 minutes later, Hertha’s Julian Schieber scored the only goal of the match.
