Malmo player throws corner flag at opposing fans after they throw explosive at him

The Allsvenskanliga match between IFK Gothenburg and Malmo was abandoned when a player heaved the corner flag into the crowd after an explosive device thrown from the stands went off near his feet. Malmo’s Tobias Sana, who played for rivals IFK from 2009 to 2012, was warming up on the touchline when the firework landed near him and went off in the 78th minute. Sana then charged towards the area of the stands where it came from, picked up the corner flag and threw it like a javelin into the crowd. It didn’t appear to hit anyone.

“I don’t seek out records, records seek out me,” says Cristiano Ronaldo after battering poor Malmo

Cristiano Ronaldo scored four times in span of 20 minutes during Real Madrid’s 8-0 win over Malmo. In doing so, he broke his own Champions League group-stage scoring record and become the first player to record 10 or more goals over the six matches, ending up with 11. This gave him more goals than 27 of the 32 TEAMS in the group stage.

Once he was finished beating up on a clearly inferior club, he made a statement that was so impressively egotistical that it sounded like a quote from a parody of Cristiano Ronaldo. From ESPN FC:

“On a personal level, I am happy for another record. I don’t seek out records, records seek me out.”

He doesn’t seek out records. Records seek him out. That’s something a WWE villain would say! It’s brilliant.

Love or hate Ronaldo, you can’t deny that the game is more entertaining with him and his colossal ego.

Zlatan makes supremely Zlatan return to Malmo

It’s been a date Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been looking forward to since the Champions League draw was made, and really for the last 14 years — playing against his first club, Malmo FF, in his hometown of Malmo. Zlatan spoke of the importance of the occasion to him and he booked the main square so everyone could watch.

But it wasn’t just Zlatan who was excited. The night before the match, the city’s tallest building had a giant, neon blue Z at the top of it and a local sponsor put up posters of Zlatan to welcome him home.

Zlatan explains the importance of Malmo FF to him in brilliant short film

Zlatan Ibrahimovic began his career with his hometown club, Malmo FF. He left the club 14 years ago, but now, for the first time, he will return as the opposition when PSG face them in the Champions League next week.

In the short film above, which was produced by Malmo, Zlatan explains what the club, the city, and this opportunity means to him. The genuine passion, joy, and excitement makes it a great watch.

In the video, he also reiterates his plan to show the match in the city’s main square so everyone can watch it together and for free. It’s just fun to see a player so emotionally invested in a specific match.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic ensures that all of Malmö can watch his homecoming

We know that Zlatan is a vengeful god, but he is benevolent too. When PSG drew Malmö, his first club and hometown team, he said it was a “dream.”

“Too bad that all of Malmö won’t fit in the stadium,” he added after the draw three weeks ago. Well, he’s done his best to make alternate accommodations.

On his social media accounts, Zlatan announced that he has booked the Main Square in Malmö on November 25 when PSG visit for the two clubs’ second Champions League meeting (PSG won 2-0 in Paris already). The match will be shown for everyone who can’t fit in the stadium, so there will be no excuse for anyone to miss Zlatan’s triumphant return.

Zlatan also promised more surprises for the day, which probably means that there will be Pep Guardiola piñatas filled with bottles of Zlatan’s new cologne strung up around town.
