Pictures of footballers euphorically spraying themselves with cologne

It has come to my attention that footballers really enjoy spraying cologne on themselves. Usually it’s because it’s their own branded scent, but the act of spritzing it on themselves seems to elevate them to a state of absolute nirvana.

Thankfully, there are images that capture this rare moment of pure elation. The absolute best example is this one from Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent launch of his newest fragrance Legacy…

Marco Reus recently signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund despite the club’s struggles this season and serious interest from bigger clubs abroad. Now we know why: because he doesn’t want to have to learn a whole new set of secret handshakes with new teammates somewhere else.

Following Dortmund’s win against Mainz, Reus carried out a series of handshakes and embraces that seemed to be specific to certain teammates (Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ilkay Gundogan, and Nuri Sahin). The smoothness and ease with which Reus carried out this ritual must have taken some practice, so the thought of starting over with other players who might not be as adept in the secret handshake game must have been upsetting.

Marco Reus autographs a Real Madrid shirt, which basically means they own his soul forever

Following reports that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus has agreed to personal terms with Real Madrid ahead of a potential transfer, the player’s agent said all of it was “blatant nonsense.” But now Reus has autographed a Real Madrid shirt after playing a friendly against Steaua Bucharest in Alicante, Spain, and as the ink seeped into the cloth, so did the club into the very essence of his being.

He might continue to play for Dortmund, but now he belongs to Madrid in the two most important places: the gossip columns and that random dude’s shirt.
