Mark Clattenburg was the referee for both the 2016 Champions League final and the Euro 2016 final — an impressive combination of honors that few people would ever talk about since, you know, he’s a referee. But the never attention shy Clattenburg came up with a way to make this a topic of conversation amongst anyone who sees his left arm by getting tattoos of the competitions’ logos/trophies.

First impressions after playing FIFA 17 in the general vicinity of David Alaba and Javi Martinez

I got an early look at FIFA 17 at an event in New York marking the partnership between EA Sports and Bayern Munich. If anything, Frank Lampard might be too good for MLS

At the start of the season, fans eager to stamp out MLS’s “retirement league” tag and impatient writers desperate for pageviews dubbed Frank Lampard the league’s worst ever signing. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores first Man United goal two days after first training session

Three minutes and 11 seconds into his Man United debut and just two days after he began training with the club, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an acrobatic goal in a friendly against Galatasaray in his native Sweden. A rather perfect debut for Zlatan, but why would you expect anything else?

Zlatan only played the first 45 minutes against Gala, not because of fitness concerns, but because it would’ve been unfair to subject them to a full 90 minutes of him in a friendly.

Will Ferrell takes penalties against Leicester’s Christian Fuchs

LAFC part-owner Will Ferrell visited with Leicester City during their summer tour of the U.S., giving him an opportunity to show some skills that would fit right in with the Italian national team.

Defender Christian Fuchs acted as goalkeeper against Ferrell’s penalty attempts. He didn’t have to do much on the first two, but on the third, Ferrell used the initial save as a distraction so he could throw a second ball into the open net.

A preview of what’s to come from LAFC, surely.
