Not even Jamie Vardy’s racist ranting could impede Leicester City’s rise to becoming the champions of everyone’s hearts on their journey to winning a Premier League title that was almost more science fiction than fairytale.
The club’s explosion in popularity this season is perhaps most quantifiable in FIFA 16 and EA Sports has put together an infographic to illustrate the dramatic rise of the club and their two standout players.
Everyone knows that Liverpool’s recent success is all down to the club being awarded victories for Jurgen Klopp’s hugs, celebrations, and funny press conferences, but a crackpot new theory maintains that an entire staff and squad of players have also contributed.
In an interview with BT Sport ahead of the second leg of Real Madrid’s Champions League semifinal against Man City, Zidane was asked about his recent streak of trouser trouble. During each of his club’s two previous European matches, Zidane tore his pants wide open, prompting the unusual question about the fit of his clothing. And though he admitted that he wasn’t able to change his tailor, he did make a significant adjustment.
With the 2016 Champions League final now set to be a rematch of the 2014 final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, UEFA has announced plans to employ an unprecedented level of security at the match in order to protect everyone from managers Zinedine Zidane and Diego Simeone.

The titles keep rolling in for Leicester City. The manner in which they won the Premier League crown was apparently so impressive that other sporting organizations have declared them champions, as well. One of which is UFC, who sent Leicester a special title belt. Have Man United, Man City, or Chelsea received a UFC belt for winning the Premier League? Nope.

Man City didn’t seem terribly interested in reaching the club’s first ever Champions League final as they sleepwalked to letting Real Madrid advance on a 1-0 aggregate score. The one being a Fernando own goal in the 20th minute of the second leg. City also had just one shot on target in each leg. So you can’t even say “at least they tried” because they kind of didn’t.
This is Chelsea’s home kit for the 2016/17 season. It features “tonal lions” on the shirt. It looks like something Hugh Hefner would wear to bed.
I guess Adidas decided that since Chelsea sleepwalked through much of this season, they might as well be dressed appropriately for it.
Legia Warsaw beat Lech Poznan in the Polish Cup final, which is wonderful for them, but I’m pretty sure the apocalypse happened before and during this match. Watch:
Bayern Munich’s elimination from the Champions League semifinals by Atletico Madrid ensures that Pep Guardiola will not win a European title for the German club before he joins Man City next season. Though Guardiola has won five other trophies in his three seasons with Bayern, this comes as a terrible disappointment to him. Thankfully, his fellow managers have reached out to him with their comforting words.
When we last saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic conduct a job interview on behalf of the vitamin drink he promotes, he asked a very nervous prospective hire who his favorite footballer was. The guy was smart/scared enough to say it was the massively egoed superstar sitting across from him. But Nicole from Finland is far braver.
