With Liverpool and Spurs even at 2-2, Mario Balotelli replaced Daniel Sturrridge in the 74th minute for the home side. Jose Mourinho laughs about Mario Balotelli’s reason for once missing a meeting with him

Jose Mourinho and Mario Balotelli had their run-ins during their time at Inter and though their relationship suffered for it at the time, it seems that Mourinho can laugh about it now that they’ve gone their separate ways.

In an interview with BT Sport’s Clare Balding, Mourinho tells the story of how Balotelli once skipped a meeting between the two of them so he could attend a Formula 1 event. Mario’s reason for doing this? According to Mourinho, Balotelli told him, “Meetings in your office I can have every day, but Formula 1 is only in Italy once a year.”

Well played, Mario. Well played.
