You can now watch more than 16 consecutive hours of Gigi Buffon making saves

Unsure what to do with yourself to make it through the tedium of the international break? Well Juventus have come to the rescue by uploading a 973-minute long video of Gianluigi Buffon making saves to celebrate his Serie A clean sheet record of the same length.

As Juve point out, at the 4:07:57 mark, the video matches the time it takes to travel from Turin to Rome by train and at 9:16:57 it lasts as long as the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Please alert your family before you start watching this video. Not that 16 hours is long enough for anyone to worry about not hearing from you, but surely they will be able to make arrangements to help you assimilate back into society after making it all the way through.

The man who made the tackle, Garret Kusch, is a former striker for the Canadian national team himself. After retiring in 2001, he became a chiropractor, which apparently involved studying exactly where to hit another person to completely incapacitate them.

Hopefully he slipped the pitch invader his business card for the spinal realignment he will inevitably need after this.

Del Bosque shook hands with his assailant after getting up, showing that he forgave the linesman while we can only assume that his mustache did not. Sadly, the linesman was not booked for this shameful foul.

Johan Cruyff in pictures and film

The incomparable John Cruyff died today at the age of 68 after battling lung cancer. This has naturally sparked a wave of tributes to his genius both on the pitch and the touchline, but for someone like Cruyff, words can only do so much.

The documentary above gives a nice overview of his life and career mixed with footage of his greatest moments and praise from those who saw his legend develop in their presence.

Above all, Cruyff believed that football should be fun — a message that has been the driving force behind DT, as well. So here are some fun pictures of Johan over the years…
