The greatest goal call of all time as Louisville City defenders are denied their free bagels

“GEORGI HRISTOV WILL NOT ALLOW THE BAGELS!”

(Matt May/Tampa Bay Rowdies)

During the 59th minute of a USL match between the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Louisville City, Rowdies touchline reporter Heather Donnelly shared an anecdote about how Louisville goalkeeper Tim Dobrowolski buys his teammates bagels when they keep a clean sheet. And just as she got the words out, Tampa’s Georgi Hristov scored a goal to end the chance at a clean sheet, prompting commentator Mike Pepper to bellow “Georgi Hristov will not allow the bagels! He takes the bagel off!”

Watch and enjoy:

There have been many memorable examples of football commentary perfection over the years, but this will be tough to beat. Martin Tyler can only dream of coming up with a line this good.

From now on, every goal that ends the hope of a clean sheet must be referred to as “denying the bagels.”

Rafinha destroys a fan’s snack during warm-ups

Rafinha: Obliterator of fries

I often wonder if professional footballers ever look up into the stands and wish they could sit and gorge on deliciously fatty foods like the fans who watch them push their bodies to the extreme in the name of entertainment. Perhaps this explains why Rafinha launched a ball into the stands, hitting an unsuspecting fan right in the fries during warm-ups before Bayern Munich’s 1–0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Of course, it could have been an accident, but it seems more likely that Rafinha spotted these three men enjoying their deep fried treats and thought “If I can’t have some fries right now NO ONE CAN!”

I am also convinced that Thomas Müller later ate the fries off the floor just because that seems like something he would do.

English amateur club unveils sausage kit

The latest in food themed kit atrocities

(Bedale Sports Club via Wes Burdine)

We here at Dirty Tackle have prided ourselves on keeping you abreast of the latest developments in questionable food themed kit fashions. To recap, we have seen strawberry, blueberry, broccoli, octopus, beer, and ham kits from various lower division clubs across Spain to this point. But now this phenomenon has reached British shores with Bedale AFC’s sausage kit.

Why would an amateur club agree to wear a kit covered in sausages? Well, Bedale recently signed a partnership with local sausage manufacturer Heck Food (watch out, Abe Froman), so if having the word “HECK” printed across their shirts didn’t convey quality in the art of tube-shaped animal bits, the sausage blizzard design certainly will.

In addition to the shirt sponsorship, Bedale’s ground has been renamed Heck Stadium and we can only hope they are working on a sign reading “Welcome to Heck” that will put Galatasaray’s intimidation efforts to shame.

While Bedale’s sausage fest kit is impressive, it still can’t top CD Guijuelo’s ham kit.
