Brazil beat Chile 1-0 in a London friendly on Sunday, but Chile midfielder Gary Medel made the most of his opportunity to use Neymar’s leg as a step stool. Anfield played host to a charity match on Sunday that doubled as Steven Gerrard’s testimonial before he heads to Los Angeles this summer. Gerrard and former teammate Jaime Carragher picked their squads and got a head start on the banter a couple weeks ago, but it all came together over the course of 90 thoroughly enjoyable minutes during the international break.

Frank Lampard used the international break to fly to New York and watch NYCFC, the team he pretended to sign for last summer before going on a fake loan with Man City that was later extended until the end of the Premier League season. The 36-year-old midfielder, who has been playing less after an impressive start to the season in Manchester, took in NYCFC’s match against Sporting Kansas City at Yankee Stadium with his partner, Christine Bleakley.
If there’s one place in the United States that would know the Salvadoran national anthem, you’d think it would be Washington, DC.
